FAQ
What kind of dentistry would I expect to find at Aspire Dental Care?
We concentrate our efforts on long-term, comprehensive dentistry that will help you keep your teeth for your lifetime.
In terms of treatment, our core services are related to dental surgeries (including wisdom teeth removal and implants), face-driven orthodontics, periodontics (gum and bone health) and cosmetic/aesthetic dentistry.
As you will read below, ‘comprehensive’ dentistry is built on top of a strong dental health foundation - to which we also will help you achieve.
What is the concept of long-term, comprehensive dentistry?
Comprehensive dentistry means acknowledging the root cause(s) of your dental issues so you can ultimately choose option(s) that will lead to long-term (and comprehensive) results.
Do you ever feel like you have had a dental issue fixed only to experience a similar issue months or years later without really knowing why or how to prevent it?
One simple example: If a patient continues to have cavities year over year and presents herself with very little plaque and calculus during her regular examinations, then one of the causes for her high caries risk is her diet.
Comprehensive dentistry is a win-win solution for you and the dental team. You end up having a higher quality of life while saving in the long run, and the dental team can have the incredible satisfaction of providing meaningful change.
What is Full Mouth Rehabilitation?
Full mouth rehabilitation (FMR) is a comprehensive dental treatment aimed at addressing various oral health issues throughout the entire mouth.
Signs you may need Full Mouth Rehabilitation are if you have one or more of the following:
You have teeth that are worn down excessively (more than is usual for your age).
You have chronic teeth or jaw pain (temporomandibular disorder or TMD).
You are missing teeth.
You have experienced dental trauma such as chipped or fractured teeth.
You have severe gum (periodontal) disease.
All FMR cases are planned uniquely to each patient's individual circumstances. Treatments may include some or all of the following:
Gum/periodontal treatment to prevent teeth from loosening further.
Replacing old and worn fillings
Zirconia/porcelain/composite crowns/veneers to build up teeth to correct the bite and create a more youthful appearance
Splint therapy to determine if the pain is a bite related issue
Implants or bridges to replace missing teeth.
Orthodontics if the bite cannot be fixed alone by point 3 above.
FMR cases can have numerous positive effects such as:
Correcting some or all of the 5 signs above
Aligning and whitening the teeth for an aesthetic improvement
By adjusting the bite we can lengthen the lower third of the face for an often younger appearance (the reduction of wrinkles in the corner of the lips).
FMR can also have negative effects:
In order to place crowns, teeth need to be worn down
Any dental work placed in the mouth needs to be maintained just like real teeth in order for it to last
There is a time and money cost
If you think you or a loved one may need FMR, please contact us and we will arrange a FMR consultative appointment with Dr Benson Chan.
Do you perform ‘basic’ dentistry?
Yes.
In fact a lot of ‘complicated’ dentistry is built on top of a strong dental health foundation. In order to build that foundation, we provide periodontal (gum and bone) treatment, fillings, root canals and other treatments that you would find in a typical dental clinic.
Can I get emergency dental treatment at your clinic?
Yes, we offer emergency dental treatment during our clinic's opening hours. For the quickest response, please call or WhatsApp us at +852 9723 8367.
What is your experience treating patients with “dental phobia”?
We understand that many new patients come from a background of a major fear or dislike of visiting the dentist. From our dental surgery assistants and hygienists to our dentists, we are trained to provide service and hospitality. We truly believe that our environment and a soft touch can reverse years or decades of fear.
Which dentist do you recommend?
Each of our dentists have their own interests and expertise.
Please read the descriptions at Our Dentists and About Us to get a better idea of who you want to choose to address your specific dental issue.
If you cannot choose, please WhatsApp or call us to be guided on your decision.
